Do small importers get an exemption?
There is no general SME exemption. All packaging placed on the EU market must comply — but small volumes face lighter reporting obligations.
Can I still sell stock produced before 12 Aug 2026?
Existing stock produced before the applicable date may be sold until exhausted in most member states — check the transitional provisions per country.
Do non-food-contact packaging PFAS limits apply?
Yes. The PFAS restriction covers all packaging, with lower limits for food-contact packaging.
Is compostable packaging automatically compliant?
EN 13432 compostable packaging meets the highest recyclability class and is a strong compliance path, but substance limits still apply.
